โยสิยาห์ทรงรื้อฟื้นพันธสัญญา

8โยสิยาห์ทรงนำบรรดาปุโรหิตจากหัวเมืองต่างๆ ของยูดาห์มายังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และทรงรื้อสถานบูชาบนที่สูงทั้งหลายจากเกบาจดเบเออร์เชบา ที่ซึ่งปุโรหิตทั้งหลายได้เผาเครื่องหอม พระองค์ทรงทำลายสถานบูชา ▼

แก่พระโมเลคได้อีก 11ทรงรื้อรูปปั้นม้าที่ตั้งอยู่ตรงทางเข้าพระวิหารขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ถัดจากห้องของขุนนางนาธันเมเลค รูปปั้นเหล่านี้กษัตริย์องค์ก่อนๆ ของยูดาห์ได้สร้างถวายดวงอาทิตย์ จากนั้นโยสิยาห์ได้เผารถม้าศึกที่สร้างถวายดวงอาทิตย์ด้วย 12พระองค์ทรงรื้อแท่นบูชาต่างๆ ที่กษัตริย์ยูดาห์สร้างขึ้นบนดาดฟ้าพระราชวัง เหนือห้องประทับของอาหัส ส่วนแท่นบูชาซึ่งมนัสเสห์สร้างขึ้นในลานทั้งสองของพระวิหารขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้านั้น โยสิยาห์ทรงทุบเป็นชิ้นเล็กชิ้นน้อยและโยนทิ้งในหุบเขาขิดโรน 13พระองค์ทรงทำลายสถานบูชาบนที่สูงทั้งหลายทางตะวันออกของเยรูซาเล็ม ทางใต้ของเนินเขาแห่งความเสื่อมทราม ซึ่งกษัตริย์โซโลมอนแห่งอิสราเอลสร้างขึ้นสำหรับเทวีอัชโทเรทอันชั่วช้าของชาวไซดอน สำหรับพระเคโมชอันเลวทรามของโมอับ และสำหรับพระโมเลค ▼

17โยสิยาห์ตรัสถามว่า “หินสุสานที่เห็นนั้นคืออะไร?”
ชาวเมืองกราบทูลว่า “เป็นหลุมฝังศพของคนของพระเจ้าจากยูดาห์ซึ่งประกาศว่าสิ่งที่ฝ่าพระบาทเพิ่งทำเสร็จลงไปจะเกิดขึ้นบนแท่นแห่งเบธเอลนี้”
18โยสิยาห์จึงตรัสว่า “ปล่อยสุสานนั้นไว้ อย่าให้ใครไปรบกวนกระดูกของเขาเลย” พวกเขาจึงไม่ได้เผากระดูกของผู้นั้นและกระดูกของผู้เผยพระวจนะจากสะมาเรีย

21โยสิยาห์ตรัสสั่งประชากรทั้งปวงว่า “จงฉลองปัสกาถวายแด่พระยาห์เวห์พระเจ้าของท่านตามที่เขียนไว้ในหนังสือพันธสัญญานี้” 22ไม่เคยมีการฉลองปัสกาอย่างนั้นเลยนับตั้งแต่สมัยผู้วินิจฉัยของอิสราเอลและตลอดยุคของกษัตริย์อิสราเอลและยูดาห์ 23แต่พิธีปัสกานี้ฉลองแด่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มในปีที่สิบแปดแห่งรัชกาลกษัตริย์โยสิยาห์
24ยิ่งกว่านั้นโยสิยาห์ยังได้ทรงกำจัดคนทรงหมอดู เทพเจ้าประจำเรือน รูปเคารพ และสิ่งที่น่าชิงชังทั้งปวงที่พบเห็นในยูดาห์และกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม เพื่อให้ครบถ้วนตามข้อกำหนดของบทบัญญัติซึ่งเขียนไว้ในหนังสือที่ปุโรหิตฮิลคียาห์พบในพระวิหารขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า 25ก่อนหน้าหรือหลังโยสิยาห์ ไม่มีกษัตริย์องค์ใดเสมอเหมือนพระองค์ ซึ่งหันกลับมาหาองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าอย่างสุดจิตสุดใจและสุดกำลังตามบทบัญญัติทั้งสิ้นของโมเสส
26แต่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าไม่ได้ทรงหันเหพระพิโรธอันใหญ่หลวงที่มีต่อยูดาห์อันเนื่องมาจากการกระทำทั้งสิ้นของมนัสเสห์ซึ่งยั่วยุพระพิโรธของพระองค์ 27ดังนั้นองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตรัสไว้ว่า “เราจะขจัดยูดาห์ออกไปให้พ้นหน้าเรา เหมือนที่เราได้ขจัดอิสราเอล และเราจะทิ้งเยรูซาเล็มเมืองที่เราเลือกสรรไว้และทิ้งวิหารซึ่งเรากล่าวว่า ‘นามของเราจะอยู่ที่นั่น’ d”

29ในขณะที่โยสิยาห์ยังทรงครองราชย์อยู่ ฟาโรห์เนโคแห่งอียิปต์เสด็จมายังแม่น้ำยูเฟรติสเพื่อช่วยกษัตริย์อัสซีเรีย โยสิยาห์ยกทัพออกไปรบกับเนโค และถูกประหารที่เมกิดโด 30ทหารของโยสิยาห์จึงนำพระศพขึ้นรถม้าศึกจากเมกิดโดมายังกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และฝังไว้ในสุสานของพระองค์เอง ประชาชนได้เลือกเยโฮอาหาสโอรสของโยสิยาห์และเจิมตั้งขึ้นเป็นกษัตริย์แทนราชบิดา

31เมื่อเยโฮอาหาสขึ้นเป็นกษัตริย์ พระองค์ทรงมีพระชนมายุ 23 พรรษา ทรงครองราชย์อยู่ในกรุงเยรูซาเล็มสามเดือน ราชมารดาคือฮามุทาลธิดาของเยเรมีย์แห่งลิบนาห์ 32เยโฮอาหาสทรงทำสิ่งที่ชั่วในสายพระเนตรขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเหมือนที่บรรพบุรุษของพระองค์ได้ทรงทำ 33ฟาโรห์เนโคจับพระองค์ล่ามโซ่ไว้ที่ริบลาห์ในฮามัท ▼ เพื่อไม่ให้ทรงครองราชย์ที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม และบังคับยูดาห์ให้ส่งบรรณาการเป็นเงินหนักประมาณ 3.4 ตัน ▼▼ภาษาฮีบรูว่า100 ตะลันต์

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
