9อาสาขึ้นเป็นกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ ตรงกับปีที่ยี่สิบของรัชกาลเยโรโบอัมแห่งอิสราเอล 10ทรงครองราชย์อยู่ 41 ปีในกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม เสด็จย่าของพระองค์คือมาอาคาห์ ธิดาของอาบีชาโลม11อาสาทรงทำสิ่งที่ถูกต้องในสายพระเนตรขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเหมือนดาวิดบรรพบุรุษ 12อาสาทรงเนรเทศโสเภณีชายประจำเทวสถานออกไปจากดินแดน และทรงขจัดเทวรูปทั้งปวงที่บรรพบุรุษสร้างขึ้น 13พระองค์ทรงถอดพระนางมาอาคาห์เสด็จย่าของพระองค์ออกจากตำแหน่งพระพันปีหลวง เพราะพระนางได้สร้างเสาเจ้าแม่อาเชราห์อันน่ารังเกียจ อาสาทรงโค่นเสานั้นและเผาทิ้งที่หุบเขาขิดโรน 14แม้พระองค์ไม่ได้ทรงรื้อสถานบูชาบนที่สูงทั้งหลายทิ้ง แต่พระทัยของอาสาก็ภักดีแน่วแน่ต่อองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าตลอดพระชนม์ชีพ 15พระองค์ทรงนำเงินและทองกับเครื่องใช้ไม้สอยต่างๆ ซึ่งพระองค์กับราชบิดาได้ถวายแด่พระเจ้ามาไว้ในพระวิหารขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า
16มีสงครามระหว่างอาสากับกษัตริย์บาอาชาแห่งอิสราเอลตลอดรัชกาล 17กษัตริย์บาอาชาแห่งอิสราเอลมาสู้รบกับยูดาห์ และบาอาชาทรงสร้างป้อมปราการที่เมืองรามาห์ เพื่อปิดทางเข้าออกสู่เขตแดนของกษัตริย์อาสาแห่งยูดาห์

20เบนฮาดัดทรงเห็นชอบกับกษัตริย์อาสา และทรงส่งแม่ทัพและกองกำลังไปโจมตีเมืองต่างๆ ของอิสราเอล ทรงพิชิตเมืองอิโยน ดาน อาเบลเบธมาอาคาห์ คินเนเรททั้งหมด รวมทั้งนัฟทาลี 21เมื่อบาอาชาทราบเรื่องนี้ก็หยุดการสร้างเมืองรามาห์ แล้วถอยทัพกลับไปยังทีรซาห์ 22จากนั้นกษัตริย์อาสาทรงเกณฑ์ทุกคนในยูดาห์ ไม่เว้นผู้ใดเลย ให้พวกเขาช่วยกันขนหินและไม้ซึ่งบาอาชาทรงใช้อยู่ที่เมืองรามาห์ นำไปสร้างเมืองเกบาในแดนเบนยามินและเมืองมิสปาห์

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
