6 And now they break down ^{▼▼Lit altogether}all its ^bcarved work
With axe and hammers.
7 They have ^{▼▼Lit set on fire} ^dburned Your sanctuary ^{▼▼Or To the ground they...}to the ground;
They have ^fdefiled the dwelling place of Your name.
8 They ^gsaid in their heart, “Let’s ^{▼▼Lit altogether}completely ^{▼▼Or oppress}subdue them.”
They have burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
