‏ Isaiah 34:8-10

8 For the Lord has a day of ^avengeance,
A year of retribution for the ^{▼▼Or controversy}cause of Zion.
9 ^{▼▼I.e., Edom’s}Its streams will be turned into pitch,
And its loose earth into ^dbrimstone,
And its land will become burning pitch.
10 It will ^enot be extinguished night or day;
Its ^fsmoke will go up forever.
From ^ggeneration to generation it will be desolate;
^hNone will pass through it forever and ever.
