Genesis 28:13-19
13And behold, athe Lord stood ▼▼ Or beside him
above it and said, “I am the Lord, cthe God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie, I will give it dto you and to eyour ▼▼ Lit seed
descendants. 14“Your ▼▼ Lit seed
descendants will also be like hthe dust of the earth, and you will ▼▼ Lit break through
spread out jto the west and to the east and to the north and to the south; and kin you and in your ▼▼ Lit seed
descendants shall all the families of the earth be blessed. 15“Behold, mI am with you and nwill keep you wherever you go, and owill bring you back to this land; for pI will not leave you until I have done what I have ▼▼ Lit spoken to
promised you.” 16Then Jacob rawoke from his sleep and said, s“Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” 17He was afraid and said, t“How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.” 18So Jacob rose early in the morning, and took uthe stone that he had put ▼▼ Lit at his head-place
under his head and set it up as a pillar and poured oil on its top. 19He called the name of that place ▼▼ I.e. the house of God
