Amazjah und Asarjah Könige in Judah. - Jerobeam in Israel.
1Im zweiten Jahre von Joasch, dem Sohne des Jehoachas, König von Israel, ward Amazjahu König, der Sohn des Joasch, des Königs von Judah. 2Er war fünfundzwanzig Jahre alt ▼▼ein Sohn von 25 Jahren
, als er König wurde, und regierte neunundzwanzig Jahre in Jerusalem. Und der Name seiner Mutter war Jehoaddan aus Jerusalem. 3Und er tat, was recht ▼▼redlich
war in den Augen Jehovahs, nur nicht wie David, sein Vater, nach allem, was sein Vater Joasch getan hatte, tat er. 4Nur die Opferhöhen taten sie nicht weg. Das Volk opferte und räucherte noch auf den Opferhöhen. 5Und es geschah, als das Königtum bestärkt war in seiner Hand, da schlug er seine Knechte, die den König, seinen Vater, geschlagen hatten. 6Aber die Söhne derer, die ihn geschlagen, tötete er nicht, wie geschrieben ist im Buche des Gesetzes Moses, das Jehovah geboten und gesagt: Nicht sollen die Väter um der Söhne willen getötet werden, noch sollen die Söhne um der Väter willen getötet werden; sondern jeder Mann soll um seiner Sünde willen getötet werden. 7Er schlug von Edom im Salztal ▼▼der Schlucht des Salzes
zehntausend, und nahm im Streite Sela ▼▼die Felsenklippe
ein ▼▼erfaßte
, und nannte dessen Namen Joktheel bis auf diesen Tag. 8Da sandte Amazjah Boten an Jehoasch, den Sohn des Jehoachas, Sohn Jehus, König von Israel, und ließ ihm sagen: Komm, laß uns einander von Angesicht sehen. 9Und Jehoasch, König von Israel, sandte an Amazjahu, König von Judah, und sagte: Der Dornstrauch auf dem Libanon sandte an die Zeder auf dem Libanon und sprach: Gib deine Tochter meinem Sohn zum Weibe. Und das wilde Tier des Feldes auf dem Libanon zog vorüber und zerstampfte den Dornstrauch. 10Du hast Edom geschlagen ▼▼schlagend geschlagen
und dein Herz erhebt dich. Laß dich verherrlichen und sitze in deinem Hause; und warum willst du Böses anheben und fallen, du und Judah mit dir? 11Aber Amazjah hörte nicht; und Jehoasch, König von Israel, zog hinauf, und sie sahen sich von Angesicht, er und Amazjahu, König von Judah, in Beth-Schemesch, das zu Judah gehört. 12Und Judah ward vor Israel geschlagen ▼▼gestoßen
, und sie flohen, jeder Mann in sein Zelt. 13Und den Amazjahu, den König von Judah, Sohn von Jehoasch, dem Sohne Achasjahus, erfaßte Jehoasch, der König von Israel, in Beth-Schemesch und sie kamen nach Jerusalem, und er durchbrach die Mauer Jerusalem von Tore Ephraim bis an das Ecktor vierhundert Ellen; 14Und er nahm alles Gold und Silber und alle Geräte, die sich im Hause Jehovahs und in den Schätzen des Hauses des Königs fanden, und Söhne der Bürgschaft und kehrte nach Samaria zurück. 15Und die übrige Geschichte ▼▼Worte

Jehoasch mit seinen Vätern, und ward in Samaria begraben bei den Königen Israels; und Jerobeam, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle. 17Amazjahu aber, der Sohn des Joasch, König von Judah, lebte nach dem Tode von Jehoasch, dem Sohne des Jehoachas, König von Israel, fünfzehn Jahre. 18Und die übrige Geschichte ▼▼Worte

der Könige Israels? 19Und sie verschworen sich in einer Verschwörung wider ihn in Jerusalem, und er floh nach Lachisch; sie aber sandten ihm nach gen Lachisch und töteten ihn allda. 20Und sie hoben ihn auf die Rosse, und er ward begraben in Jerusalem bei seinen Väter in der Stadt Davids. 21Und alles Volk Judahs nahm den Asarjah, und er war sechszehn Jahre alt ▼▼ein Sohn von 16 Jahren
, und machte ihn an seines Vaters Amazjahu Stelle zum König. 22Er baute Elath und brachte es an Judah zurück, nachdem der König zu seinen Vätern entschlafen war. 23Im Jahre fünfzehn der Jahre von Amazjahu, dem Sohne des Joasch, König von Judah, ward Jerobeam, Sohn von Joasch, dem Könige Israels, König in Samaria einundvierzig Jahre. 24Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen Jehovahs, er wich nicht ab von all den Sünden Jerobeams, des Sohnes Nebats, der Israel sündigen machte. 25Er brachte wieder die Grenze Israels, von wo man kommt nach Chamath bis an das Meer der Arabah, nach dem Worte Jehovahs, des Gottes Israels, das Er geredet hatte durch die Hand Seines Knechtes Jonah, des Sohnes Amitthais, des Propheten, der aus Gath Chepher war. 26Denn Jehovah sah an das Elend Israels, daß es sehr bitter war, und kein Zurückgehaltener noch Verlassener mehr war, und kein Beistand für Israel. 27Und Jehovah hatte nicht geredet, daß Er den Namen Israels auswischen werde unter dem Himmel und Er half ihnen durch die Hand Jerobeams, des Sohnes des Joasch. 28Und die übrige Geschichte ▼▼Worte
Jerobeams, und alles, was er tat, und seine Macht, wie er gestritten und wie er Damaskus und Chamath, das zu Judah gehörte, für Israel wiederbrachte, ist es nicht geschrieben im Buche der Tagesgeschichte ▼▼der Worte des Tages

zu seinen Vätern, zu den Königen Israels, und sein Sohn Sacharjah ward König an seiner Stelle.

It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
