Duw wedi dewis yr Iddewon
1Dw i'n dweud y gwir fel Cristion – heb air o gelwydd. Mae nghydwybod i dan ddylanwad yr Ysbryd Glân yn tystio 2fy mod i'n ddigalon iawn ac yn poeni drwy'r amser am fy mhobl, yr Iddewon. 3Byddwn i'n barod i gael fy melltithio a'm gwahanu oddi wrth y Meseia petai hynny'n gwneud lles iddyn nhw! Fy mhobl i ydyn nhw – y genedl dw i'n perthyn iddi. 4Pobl Israel sydd wedi cael eu mabwysiadu gan Dduw yn blant iddo'i hun. Nhw welodd ei ysblander. Ymrwymodd y byddai'n gofalu amdanyn nhw. Nhw gafodd y Gyfraith ganddo, a dysgu sut i'w addoli yn iawn. Nhw dderbyniodd yr addewidion i gyd! 5Eu hanes nhw ydy hanes Abraham, Isaac, Jacob a'i feibion, a nhw ydy'r genedl roedd y Meseia yn perthyn iddi fel dyn. Fe sy'n rheoli popeth, yn Dduw i gael ei foli am byth! Amen! 6Ond dydy Duw ddim wedi torri ei air! Na! Achos dydy pawb sy'n perthyn i wlad Israel ddim yn bobl Israel go iawn. 7A dydy profi eich bod chi'n ddisgynyddion i Abraham ddim yn golygu eich bod wir yn blant iddo. Beth mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn ei ddweud ydy, “Drwy Isaac y bydd dy linach yn cael ei chadw.” a 8Hynny ydy, dydy pawb sy'n perthyn i deulu Abraham ddim yn blant Duw. Y rhai sy'n blant go iawn i Abraham ydy'r rhai sy'n blant o ganlyniad i addewid Duw. 9Dyma'r addewid wnaeth Duw: “Bydda i'n dod yn ôl yr adeg yma y flwyddyn nesa, a bydd Sara yn cael mab.” b 10Ac wedyn rhaid cofio beth ddigwyddodd i'r gefeilliaid gafodd Isaac a Rebecca. 11A cofiwch fod hyn wedi digwydd cyn iddyn nhw gael eu geni, pan oedden nhw heb wneud dim byd drwg na da (sy'n dangos fod Duw'n gwneud beth mae'n ei addo yn ei ffordd ei hun. Fe sy'n dewis, 12dim beth dŷn ni'n ei wneud sy'n cyfri.) Dwedodd Duw wrth Rebecca, “Bydd y mab hynaf yn was i'r ifancaf.” c 13Fel mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dweud: “Dw i wedi caru Jacob, ond gwrthod Esau.” d 14Beth mae hyn yn ei olygu? Ydy e'n dangos fod Duw yn annheg? Wrth gwrs ddim! 15Dwedodd Duw wrth Moses, “Fi sy'n dewis pwy i drugarhau wrthyn nhw,a phwy dw i'n mynd i dosturio wrthyn nhw.” e
16Hynny ydy, trugaredd Duw sydd tu ôl i'r cwbl, dim beth dŷn ni eisiau neu beth dŷn ni'n ei gyflawni. 17Yn ôl yr ysgrifau sanctaidd dwedodd Duw wrth y Pharo: “Dyma pam wnes i dy godi di – er mwyn dangos trwot ti mor bwerus ydw i, ac er mwyn i bawb drwy'r byd i gyd ddod i wybod amdana i.” f 18Felly mae Duw yn dangos trugaredd at bwy bynnag mae'n ei ddewis, ac mae hefyd yn gwneud pwy bynnag mae'n ei ddewis yn ystyfnig. 19“Ond os felly,” meddai un ohonoch chi, “pa hawl sydd gan Dduw i weld bai, gan fod neb yn gallu mynd yn groes i'w ewyllys?” 20Ond pwy wyt ti i ddadlau yn erbyn Duw? Dim ond person dynol wyt ti! “Oes gan y peth sydd wedi ei siapio hawl i ddweud wrth yr un wnaeth ei greu, ‘Pam rwyt ti wedi fy ngwneud i fel hyn?’” g 21Oes gan y crochenydd ddim hawl i ddefnyddio'r un lwmp o glai i wneud llestr crand neu i wneud llestr fydd yn dal sbwriel? 22A'r un fath, mae gan Dduw berffaith hawl i ddangos ei ddigofaint a'i nerth! Mae wedi bod mor amyneddgar gyda'r rhai sy'n haeddu dim byd ond cosb, ac sy'n dda i ddim ond i gael eu dinistrio! 23Ac mae'n barod i ddangos ei ysblander aruthrol, a'i rannu gyda'r rhai mae wedi dewis trugarhau wrthyn nhw, sef y rhai mae wedi eu paratoi ar gyfer hynny o'r dechrau cyntaf. 24Ac ie, ni ydy'r rheiny! – dim Iddewon yn unig, ond pobl o genhedloedd eraill hefyd! 25Fel mae'n dweud yn llyfr Hosea: “Galwaf ‛nid fy mhobl‛ yn bobl i mi;
a ‛heb ei charu‛ yn un a gerir” h
26a hefyd, “Yn yr union le lle dwedwyd wrthyn nhw,
‘Dych chi ddim yn bobl i mi’
byddan nhw'n cael eu galw yn
blant y Duw byw.” i
27Ac mae Eseia'n dweud fel hyn am Israel: “Hyd yn oed petai pobl Israel mor niferus â thywod y môr,
dim ond gweddillion – rhyw nifer fechan – fydd yn cael eu hachub,
28Oherwydd yn fuan iawn bydd yr Arglwydd yn gorffen,
ac yn gwneud beth ddwedodd ar y ddaear.” j
29Mae'n union fel roedd Eseia wedi dweud yn gynharach: “Oni bai i Arglwydd y Lluoedd adael rhai ohonon ni'n fyw,
bydden ni wedi ein dinistrio fel Sodom,
ac wedi diflannu'n llwyr fel Gomorra.” ▼

30Felly beth mae hyn i gyd yn ei olygu? Mae'n golygu fod pobl o genhedloedd eraill – pobl oedd ddim yn ceisio dilyn Duw – wedi cael eu derbyn i berthynas iawn gyda Duw trwy gredu. 31Ond mae pobl Israel, oedd wedi meddwl y byddai'r Gyfraith yn eu gwneud nhw'n iawn gyda Duw, wedi methu cadw'r Gyfraith honno. 32Pam? Am eu bod nhw'n dibynnu ar beth roedden nhw eu hunain yn ei wneud yn lle credu. Maen nhw wedi baglu dros ‛y garreg sy'n baglu pobl‛, 33fel mae'r ysgrifau sanctaidd yn dweud: Edrychwch – dw i'n gosod yn Jerwsalemgarreg sy'n baglu pobl
a chraig sy'n gwneud iddyn nhw syrthio.
Ond fydd pwy bynnag sy'n credu ynddo ddim yn cael ei siomi. m

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
