2Mae'r Arglwydd yn dweud wrth Edom ▼▼1:2 Mae'r … Edom Ddim yn yr Hebraeg, ond wedi eu hychwanegu i wneud y sefyllfa'n glir (gw. diwedd adn.4)
:“Dw i'n mynd i dy wneud di'n wlad fach wan;
byddan nhw'n cael cymaint o hwyl ar dy ben.
3Mae dy falchder wedi dy dwyllo di!
Ti'n byw yn saff yng nghysgod y graig,
ac mae dy gartre mor uchel nes dy fod yn meddwl,
‘Fydd neb yn gallu fy nhynnu i lawr o'r fan yma!’ ▼

4Ond hyd yn oed petaet ti'n gallu codi mor uchel â'r eryr,
a gosod dy nyth yng nghanol y sêr,
bydda i'n dy dynnu di i lawr!” e

5“Petai lladron yn dod atat ti,
neu ysbeilwyr yn y nos,
bydden nhw ond yn dwyn beth roedden nhw eisiau!
Petai casglwyr grawnwin yn dod atat ti,
oni fydden nhw'n gadael rhywbeth i'w loffa? f
Ond byddi di'n cael dy ddinistrio'n llwyr!

yn colli popeth;bydd y trysorau gasglon nhw wedi eu dwyn!
7Mae dy gynghrheiriaid wedi dy dwyllo;
cei dy yrru at dy ffiniau.
Mae dy ‛helpwyr‛ wedi cael y llaw uchaf arnat ti,
a'r ‛ffrindiau‛ oedd yn gwledda gyda ti
wedi gosod trap heb i ti wybod.”
8“Bryd hynny” meddai'r Arglwydd,
“bydda i'n difa rhai doeth Edom,
a bydd y deallus yn diflannu o fynydd Esau.
9Bydd dy filwyr dewr wedi dychryn, Teman; ▼
▼1:9 Teman Tref bwysig yng ngogledd Edom, wedi ei henwi ar ôl ŵyr i Esau – gw. Genesis 36:10-11.
fydd neb yn goroesi ar fynydd Esau.

a byddi'n cael dy ddinistrio am byth.
11Pan oeddet ti'n sefyll o'r neilltu
tra roedd dieithriaid yn dwyn ei heiddo;
pan oedd byddin estron yn mynd trwy ei giatiau
a gamblo am gyfoeth Jerwsalem,
doeddet ti ddim gwell nag un ohonyn nhw! ▼

12Sut allet ti syllu a mwynhau'r
drychineb ddaeth i ran dy frawd?
Sut allet ti ddathlu wrth weld pobl Jwda

Sut allet ti chwerthin
ar ddiwrnod y dioddef?
13Sut allet ti fynd at giatiau fy mhobl
ar ddiwrnod eu trychineb?
Syllu a mwynhau eu trallod
ar ddiwrnod eu trychineb.
Sut allet ti ddwyn eu heiddo
ar ddiwrnod eu trychineb?
14Sut allet ti sefyll ar y groesffordd
ac ymosod ar y ffoaduriaid!
Sut allet ti eu rhoi yn llaw'r gelyn
ar ddiwrnod y dioddef?
Barn Duw a buddugoliaeth Israel
15Ydy, mae diwrnod yr Arglwydd yn agos,a bydda i'n barnu'r cenhedloedd i gyd.
Byddi'n diodde beth wnest ti i eraill; l
cei dy dalu'n ôl am beth gafodd ei wneud.
16Fel y gwnaethoch chi yfed
ar y mynydd sydd wedi ei gysegru i mi,
bydd y gwledydd i gyd yn yfed ac yfed –
yfed nes byddan nhw'n chwil. m
Bydd fel petaen nhw erioed wedi bodoli.
17Ond ar Fynydd Seion bydd rhai yn dianc
– bydd yn lle cysegredig eto.
Bydd teulu Jacob yn ennill y tir yn ôl
oddi ar y rhai wnaeth ei gymryd oddi arnyn nhw.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
