Judges 2
Neges angel yr Arglwydd i Israel
1Dyma angel yr Arglwydd yn mynd o Gilgal i Bochîm gyda neges i bobl Israel: “Fi ddaeth â chi allan o wlad yr Aifft, a'ch arwain chi i'r tir roeddwn i wedi ei addo ei roi i'ch hynafiaid. Dyma fi'n dweud, ‘Wna i byth dorri'r ymrwymiad dw i wedi ei wneud gyda chi. 2Ond rhaid i chi beidio gwneud cytundeb heddwch gyda'r bobl sy'n byw yn y wlad yma, a rhaid i chi ddinistrio'r allorau lle maen nhw'n addoli eu duwiau.’ Ond dych chi ddim wedi gwrando arna i. Pam hynny? 3Roeddwn i wedi'ch rhybuddio chi, ‘Os wnewch chi ddim gwrando, fydda i ddim yn gyrru'r Canaaneaid allan o'ch blaen chi. Byddan nhw'n fygythiad cyson, a byddwch yn cael eich denu gan eu duwiau nhw.’”4Pan oedd angel yr Arglwydd wedi dweud hyn wrth bobl Israel, dyma nhw'n torri allan i grïo'n uchel. 5Dyma nhw'n galw'r lle yn Bochîm, ▼

ac yn cyflwyno aberthau i'r Arglwydd. Israel yn stopio addoli'r Arglwydd
6Ar ôl i Josua adael i bobl Israel fynd, y bwriad oedd iddyn nhw i gyd feddiannu'r tir oedd wedi cael ei roi iddyn nhw. 7Tra roedd Josua'n fyw roedden nhw wedi addoli'r Arglwydd. Ac roedden nhw wedi dal ati i'w addoli pan oedd yr arweinwyr eraill o'r un genhedlaeth yn dal yn fyw – y dynion oedd wedi gweld drostynt eu hunain y cwbl wnaeth yr Arglwydd dros bobl Israel. 8Ond yna dyma Josua fab Nwn, gwas yr Arglwydd yn marw, yn gant a deg mlwydd oed. 9Cafodd ei gladdu ar ei dir ei hun, yn Timnath-cheres ym mryniau Effraim, i'r gogledd o Fynydd Gaash. 10Felly roedd y genhedlaeth yna i gyd wedi mynd. Doedd y genhedlaeth ddaeth ar eu holau ddim wedi cael profiad personol o'r Arglwydd nac wedi gweld drostyn nhw eu hunain beth wnaeth e dros Israel. 11Yna dyma bobl Israel yn dechrau gwneud rhywbeth roedd yr Arglwydd yn ei ystyried yn wirioneddol ddrwg. Dyma nhw'n dechrau addoli delwau o Baal. 12Dyma nhw'n troi cefn ar yr Arglwydd, Duw eu hynafiaid wnaeth eu hachub nhw o wlad yr Aifft, a dechrau addoli duwiau'r bobloedd o'u cwmpas nhw. Roedd Duw wedi digio go iawn! 13Roedden nhw wedi troi cefn ar yr Arglwydd, a dechrau addoli Baal a'r delwau o'r dduwies Ashtart. Roedd yr Arglwydd yn wirioneddol flin gyda phobl Israel! 14Dyma fe'n gadael i ladron ddwyn oddi arnyn nhw. Roedd y gelynion o'u cwmpas nhw yn gallu gwneud beth fynnen nhw! Doedden nhw'n gallu gwneud dim i'w rhwystro. 15Pan oedd Israel yn mynd allan i ymladd, roedd yr Arglwydd yn eu herbyn nhw. Roedd e wedi rhybuddio mai dyna fyddai'n ei wneud. Roedd hi'n argyfwng go iawn arnyn nhw. 16Yna dyma'r Arglwydd yn codi arweinwyr i achub pobl Israel o ddwylo eu gelynion. 17Ond doedden nhw ddim yn gwrando ar eu harweinwyr. Roedden nhw'n puteinio drwy roi eu hunain i dduwiau eraill a'u haddoli nhw. Roedden nhw'n rhy barod i grwydro oddi ar y llwybr roedd eu hynafiaid wedi ei ddilyn. Roedd eu hynafiaid wedi bod yn ufudd i orchmynion yr Arglwydd, ond doedden nhw ddim. 18Wrth i bobl Israel riddfan am fod y gelynion yn eu cam-drin nhw, roedd yr Arglwydd yn teimlo drostyn nhw. Roedd yn dewis arweinwyr iddyn nhw, ac yn helpu'r arweinwyr hynny i'w hachub o ddwylo eu gelynion. Roedd popeth yn iawn tra roedd yr arweinydd yn fyw, 19ond ar ôl i'r arweinydd farw, byddai'r genhedlaeth nesaf yn ymddwyn yn waeth na'r un o'i blaen. Bydden nhw'n mynd yn ôl i addoli duwiau eraill ac yn gweddïo arnyn nhw. Roedden nhw'n ystyfnig, ac yn gwrthod stopio gwneud drwg. 20Roedd yr Arglwydd yn wirioneddol flin gyda phobl Israel! “Mae'r genedl yma wedi torri amodau'r ymrwymiad wnes i gyda'u hynafiaid nhw. Maen nhw wedi gwrthod gwrando arna i, 21felly o hyn ymlaen dw i ddim yn mynd i yrru allan y bobloedd hynny oedd yn dal heb eu concro pan fuodd Josua farw. 22Roedden nhw wedi eu gadael yno i brofi Israel. Roeddwn i eisiau gweld fyddai'r bobl yn ufuddhau i'r Arglwydd fel roedd eu hynafiaid wedi gwneud.” 23Dyna pam oedd yr Arglwydd ddim wedi gyrru'r bobloedd yna allan yn syth, a gadael i Josua eu concro nhw i gyd.
