1Meddai'r Arglwydd, “Bryd hynny, bydd esgyrn brenhinoedd Jwda yn cael eu cymryd allan o'u beddau; ac esgyrn y swyddogion hefyd, a'r offeiriaid a'r proffwydi, a phawb arall oedd yn byw yn Jerwsalem. 2Byddan nhw'n cael eu gosod allan dan yr haul a'r lleuad a'r sêr. Dyma'r ‛duwiau‛ roedden nhw'n eu caru a'u gwasanaethu, yn addo bod yn ffyddlon iddyn nhw, yn ceisio arweiniad ganddyn nhw ac yn eu haddoli. A fydd yr esgyrn ddim yn cael eu casglu eto i'w claddu. Byddan nhw'n gorwedd fel tail ar wyneb y tir! 3“Bydd rhai o'r bobl ddrwg yma wedi byw drwy'r cwbl a'u hanfon i ffwrdd i leoedd eraill. Ond byddai'n well gan y rheiny petaen nhw wedi marw!”—meddai'r Arglwydd holl-bwerus.Pechod y bobl a'u cosb
4“Jeremeia, dywed wrthyn nhw mai dyma mae'r Arglwydd yn ei ddweud: ‘Pan mae pobl yn syrthio, ydyn nhw ddim yn codi eto?Pan maen nhw'n colli'r ffordd, ydyn nhw ddim yn troi yn ôl?
5Os felly, pam mae'r bobl yma'n dal i fynd y ffordd arall?
Pam mae pobl Jerwsalem yn dal i droi cefn arna i?
Maen nhw'n dal gafael mewn twyll,
ac yn gwrthod troi'n ôl ata i.
6Dw i wedi gwrando'n ofalus arnyn nhw,
a dŷn nhw ddim yn dweud y gwir.
Does neb yn sori am y drwg maen nhw wedi ei wneud;
neb yn dweud, “Dw i ar fai.”
Maen nhw i gyd yn mynd eu ffordd eu hunain,
fel ceffyl yn rhuthro i'r frwydr.
7Mae'r crëyr yn gwybod pryd i ymfudo,
a'r durtur, y wennol a'r garan.
Maen nhw i gyd yn dod yn ôl ar yr adeg iawn o'r flwyddyn.
Ond dydy fy mhobl i'n cymryd dim sylw
o'r hyn dw i, yr Arglwydd, yn ei ofyn ganddyn nhw.
8Sut allwch chi ddweud, “Dŷn ni'n ddoeth,
mae Cyfraith yr Arglwydd gynnon ni.”?
Y gwir ydy fod athrawon y gyfraith yn ysgrifennu pethau
sy'n gwyrdroi beth mae'n ei ddweud go iawn.
9Bydd y dynion doeth yn cael eu cywilyddio.
Byddan nhw'n syfrdan wrth gael eu cymryd i'r ddalfa.
Nhw wnaeth wrthod neges yr Arglwydd –
dydy hynny ddim yn ddoeth iawn!
10Felly bydda i'n rhoi eu gwragedd i ddynion eraill,
a'u tir i'w concwerwyr.
Maen nhw i gyd yn farus am elw anonest –
y bobl gyffredin a'r arweinwyr.
Hyd yn oed y proffwydi a'r offeiriaid –
maen nhw i gyd yn twyllo!
11Mae'r help mae'n nhw'n ei gynnig yn arwynebol a gwag.
“Bydd popeth yn iawn,” medden nhw;
Ond dydy popeth ddim yn iawn!
12Dylai fod cywilydd arnyn nhw am y fath beth!
Ond na! does ganddyn nhw ddim mymryn o gywilydd.
Dŷn nhw ddim yn gwybod beth ydy gwrido!
Felly byddan nhw'n cael eu lladd gyda pawb arall.
Bydda i'n eu cosbi nhw, a byddan nhw'n syrthio.’”
—yr Arglwydd sy'n dweud hyn.
13“Pan oeddwn i eisiau casglu'r cynhaeaf,” meddai'r Arglwydd
“doedd dim grawnwin na ffigys yn tyfu ar y coed.
Roedd hyd yn oed y dail ar y coed wedi gwywo.
Roedden nhw wedi colli popeth rois i iddyn nhw.”
Y bobl: 14“Pam ydyn ni'n eistedd yma yn gwneud dim?
Gadewch i ni ddianc i'r trefi caerog, a marw yno.
Mae'r Arglwydd ein Duw wedi ein condemnio ni i farwolaeth.
Mae e wedi gwneud i ni yfed dŵr gwenwynig
am ein bod wedi pechu yn ei erbyn.
15Roedden ni'n gobeithio y byddai popeth yn iawn,
ond i ddim pwrpas;
roedden ni'n edrych am amser gwell,
ond dim ond dychryn gawson ni.
16Mae sŵn ceffylau'r gelyn yn ffroeni i'w glywed yn Dan ▼

.Mae pawb yn crynu mewn ofn wrth glywed y ceffylau'n gweryru.

Maen nhw'n dod i ddinistrio'r trefi, a phawb sy'n byw ynddyn nhw.”
Yr Arglwydd: 17“Ydw, dw i'n anfon byddin y gelyn i'ch plith chi,
fel nadroedd gwenwynig all neb eu swyno.
A byddan nhw'n eich brathu chi.”

19Gwrandwch ar fy mhobl druan yn gweiddi
ar hyd a lled y wlad:
‘Ydy'r Arglwydd wedi gadael Seion?
Ydy ei Brenin hi ddim yno bellach?’”
Yr Arglwydd: “Pam maen nhw wedi fy nigio i
gyda'u heilunod a'u delwau diwerth?
20‘Mae'r cynhaeaf heibio, mae'r haf wedi dod i ben,
a dŷn ni'n dal ddim wedi'n hachub,’ medden nhw.”
Jeremeia: 21Dw i'n diodde wrth weld fy mhobl annwyl i'n diodde.
Dw i'n galaru. Dw i'n anobeithio.
22Oes yna ddim eli yn Gilead?
Oes dim meddyg yno?
Felly pam nad ydy briw fy mhobl wedi gwella?

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
