Yr Arglwydd: 1“Ewch yn ôl ac ymlaen drwy strydoedd Jerwsalem.Edrychwch yn fanwl ym mhobman;
chwiliwch yn ei sgwariau cyhoeddus.
Os allwch chi ddod o hyd i un person
sy'n gwneud beth sy'n iawn ac yn onest,
gwna i faddau i'r ddinas gyfan!”
—yr Arglwydd sy'n dweud hyn.
Jeremeia: 2Mae'r bobl yma'n tyngu llw,
“Mor sicr â bod yr Arglwydd yn fyw …”
Ond y gwir ydy fod eu geiriau'n gelwydd!
3O Arglwydd, onid gonestrwydd wyt ti eisiau?
Ti'n ei cosbi nhw, a dŷn nhw'n cymryd dim sylw.
Bron i ti eu dinistrio, ond maen nhw'n gwrthod cael eu cywiro.
Maen nhw mor ystyfnig, ac yn gwrthod newid eu ffyrdd.
4Wedyn dyma fi'n meddwl, “Pobl dlawd gyffredin ydy'r rhain.
Maen nhw wedi ymddwyn yn ddwl;
dŷn nhw ddim yn gwybod beth mae'r Arglwydd eisiau,
a beth mae Duw yn ei ddisgwyl ganddyn nhw.
5Gwna i fynd i siarad gyda'r arweinwyr.
Byddan nhw'n gwybod beth mae'r Arglwydd eisiau,
a beth mae Duw yn ei ddisgwyl ganddyn nhw.”
Ond roedden nhw hefyd fel ychen wedi torri'r iau
yn gwrthod gadael i Dduw eu harwain nhw.
6Felly, bydd y gelyn yn dod i ymosod fel llew o'r goedwig.
Bydd yn neidio arnyn nhw fel blaidd o'r anialwch.
Bydd fel llewpard yn stelcian tu allan i'w trefi,
a bydd unrhyw un sy'n mentro allan yn cael ei rwygo'n ddarnau!
Maen nhw wedi gwrthryfela
ac wedi troi cefn ar Dduw mor aml.
Sut all Duw faddau?
Yr Arglwydd: 7“Jerwsalem – sut alla i faddau i ti am hyn?Mae dy bobl wedi troi cefn arna i.
Maen nhw wedi cymryd llw i ‛dduwiau‛
sydd ddim yn bod!
Er fy mod i wedi rhoi popeth oedd ei angen iddyn nhw
dyma nhw'n ymddwyn fel gwraig sy'n anffyddlon i'w gŵr.
Maen nhw'n heidio i dai puteiniaid,
8fel meirch cryfion yn awchu am gaseg;
pob un yn gweryru am wraig ei gymydog.
9Ddylwn i ddim eu cosbi nhw am hyn?” meddai'r Arglwydd.
“Ddylwn i ddim dial ar wlad fel yma?”
Yr Arglwydd (wrth fyddin y gelyn): 10“Ewch i lawr y rhesi o goed gwinwydd, a difetha,
ond peidiwch â'i dinistrio nhw'n llwyr.
Torrwch y canghennau sy'n blaguro i ffwrdd,
achos dŷn nhw ddim yn perthyn i'r Arglwydd.
11Mae pobl Israel a Jwda wedi bod yn anffyddlon i mi.”
—yr Arglwydd sy'n dweud hyn.
Bydd yr Arglwydd yn cosbi Israel
12“Ydyn, maen nhw wedi gwrthod credu'r Arglwydda dweud pethau fel, ‘Dydy e'n neb!
Does dim dinistr i ddod go iawn.
Welwn ni ddim rhyfel na newyn.
13Mae'r proffwydi'n malu awyr!
Dydy Duw ddim wedi rhoi neges iddyn nhw!
Gadewch i'r hyn maen nhw'n ddweud
ddigwydd iddyn nhw eu hunain!’”
14Felly, dyma mae'r Arglwydd, y Duw holl-bwerus, yn ei ddweud: “Am eu bod nhw'n dweud hyn,
dw i'n mynd i roi neges i ti fydd fel fflam dân
yn eu llosgi nhw fel petaen nhw'n goed tân.”
15“Gwranda Israel,” meddai'r Arglwydd
“Dw i'n mynd i ddod â gwlad o bell i ymosod arnat ti –
gwlad sydd wedi bod o gwmpas ers talwm.
Dwyt ti ddim yn siarad ei hiaith hi,
nac yn deall beth mae'r bobl yn ei ddweud.
16Mae ei milwyr i gyd yn gryfion,
a'i chawell saethau fel bedd agored.
17Byddan nhw'n bwyta dy gnydau a dy fwyd.
Byddan nhw'n lladd dy feibion a dy ferched.
Byddan nhw'n bwyta dy ddefaid a dy wartheg.
Byddan nhw'n difetha dy goed gwinwydd a dy goed ffigys.
Byddan nhw'n ymosod, ac yn dinistrio dy gaerau amddiffynnol –
a thithau'n meddwl eu bod nhw mor saff!
18“Ond hyd yn oed bryd hynny fydda i ddim yn eich dinistrio chi'n llwyr,” meddai'r Arglwydd. 19“A Jeremeia, pan fydd y bobl yn gofyn, ‘Pam mae'r Arglwydd ein Duw wedi gwneud y pethau yma i ni?’, byddi di'n ateb, ‘Am eich bod wedi ei wrthod e, a gwasanaethu duwiau estron yn eich gwlad eich hunain, byddwch chi'n gwasanaethu pobl estron mewn gwlad ddieithr.’”

20“Dwedwch fel hyn wrth ddisgynyddion Jacob,a cyhoeddwch y peth drwy Jwda:
21‘Gwrandwch, chi bobl ddwl sy'n deall dim –
chi sydd â llygaid, ond yn gweld dim,
chi sydd â chlustiau, ond yn clywed dim:
22Oes gynnoch chi ddim parch ata i?’ meddai'r Arglwydd.
‘Ddylech chi ddim gwingo mewn ofn o'm blaen i?
Fi roddodd dywod ar y traeth
fel ffin nad ydy'r môr i'w chroesi.
Er bod y tonnau'n hyrddio, fyddan nhw ddim yn llwyddo;
er eu bod nhw'n rhuo, ân nhw ddim heibio.
23Ond mae'r bobl yma mor benstiff, ac yn tynnu'n groes;
maen nhw wedi troi cefn a mynd eu ffordd eu hunain.
24Dŷn nhw ddim wir o ddifrif yn dweud,
“Gadewch i ni barchu'r Arglwydd ein Duw.
Mae'n rhoi'r glaw i ni yn y gwanwyn a'r hydref;
mae'n rhoi'r cynhaeaf i ni ar yr adeg iawn.”
25Mae'ch drygioni wedi rhoi stop ar y pethau yma!
Mae'ch pechodau chi wedi cadw'r glaw i ffwrdd.’
26‘Mae yna bobl ddrwg iawn ymhlith fy mhobl i.
Maen nhw fel helwyr adar yn cuddio ac yn gwylio,
ar ôl gosod trapiau i ddal pobl.
27Fel caets sy'n llawn o adar wedi eu dal,
mae eu tai yn llawn o enillion eu twyll.
Dyna pam maen nhw mor gyfoethog a phwerus,
28wedi pesgi ac yn edrych mor dda.
Does dim pen draw i'w drygioni nhw!
Dŷn nhw ddim yn rhoi cyfiawnder i'r amddifad,
nac yn amddiffyn hawliau pobl dlawd.
29Ddylwn i ddim eu cosbi nhw am hyn?’ meddai'r Arglwydd.
‘Ddylwn i ddim dial ar wlad fel yma?’
30Mae beth sy'n digwydd yn y wlad yma'n erchyll, mae'n warthus!
31Mae'r proffwydi'n dweud celwydd,
a'r offeiriaid yn rheoli fel maen nhw eisiau.
Ac mae fy mhobl i wrth eu boddau gyda'r sefyllfa!
Ond beth wnewch chi pan ddaw'r cwbl i ben?”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
