Brodyr Joseff yn mynd i'r Aifft
1Clywodd Jacob fod ŷd ar werth yn yr Aifft. “Pam dych chi'n sefyllian yma yn gwneud dim byd?” meddai wrth ei feibion. 2“Dw i wedi clywed fod ŷd yn yr Aifft. Ewch i lawr yno i brynu peth i ni er mwyn i ni gael byw yn lle marw.” 3Felly dyma ddeg o frodyr Joseff yn mynd i lawr i'r Aifft i brynu ŷd. 4Ond wnaeth Jacob ddim anfon Benjamin, brawd Joseff, gyda'r brodyr eraill. Roedd arno ofn i rywbeth ddigwydd iddo. 5Felly aeth meibion Israel gyda phawb arall oedd yn mynd i lawr i'r Aifft i brynu ŷd. Roedd y newyn wedi taro gwlad Canaan yn drwm. 6Joseff oedd yn rheoli gwlad yr Aifft, a fe oedd yn gwerthu'r ŷd i bobl. A daeth brodyr Joseff yno ac yn ymgrymu o'i flaen. 7Dyma Joseff yn eu nabod nhw pan welodd nhw. Ond roedd yn ymddwyn fel dyn dieithr o'u blaenau nhw a dechreuodd siarad yn gas gyda nhw. “O ble dych chi'n dod?” meddai. A dyma nhw'n ateb, “O wlad Canaan. Dŷn ni wedi dod yma i brynu bwyd.” 8Er bod Joseff wedi eu nabod nhw, doedden nhw ddim wedi ei nabod e. 9A dyma Joseff yn cofio'r breuddwydion roedd wedi eu cael amdanyn nhw. Ac meddai wrthyn nhw, “Ysbiwyr ydych chi! Dych chi wedi dod i weld lle fyddai'n hawdd i chi ymosod ar y wlad.” 10“Na, syr,” medden nhw. “Mae dy weision wedi dod yma i brynu bwyd. 11Dŷn ni i gyd yn feibion i'r un dyn, ac yn ddynion gonest. Dŷn ni erioed wedi bod yn ysbiwyr.” 12“Na,” meddai Joseff. “Dych chi wedi dod i weld lle fyddai'n hawdd i chi ymosod ar y wlad!” 13A dyma nhw'n ei ateb, “Mae dy weision yn ddeuddeg brawd. Dŷn ni i gyd yn feibion i'r un dyn sy'n byw yng ngwlad Canaan. Mae'r ifancaf adre gyda'n tad, ac mae un wedi marw.” 14“Na,” meddai Joseff eto. “Ysbiwyr ydych chi, yn union fel dw i wedi dweud. 15Ond dw i'n mynd i'ch profi chi. Mor sicr â bod y Pharo'n fyw, chewch chi ddim gadael nes bydd eich brawd bach wedi dod yma! 16Caiff un ohonoch chi fynd i nôl eich brawd tra mae'r lleill yn aros yn y carchar. Cewch gyfle i brofi eich bod yn dweud y gwir. Os nad ydych chi'n dweud y gwir mae'n amlwg mai ysbiwyr ydych chi.” 17A dyma fe'n eu cadw nhw yn y ddalfa am dri diwrnod. 18Ar y trydydd diwrnod dyma Joseff yn dweud wrthyn nhw, “Gwnewch beth dw i'n ei ofyn a chewch fyw. Dw i'n ddyn sy'n addoli Duw. 19Os ydych chi wir yn ddynion gonest, bydd rhaid i un ohonoch chi aros yma yn y carchar, a chaiff y lleill ohonoch chi fynd ag ŷd yn ôl i'ch teuluoedd. 20Ond rhaid i chi ddod â'ch brawd ifancaf yma ata i. Wedyn bydda i'n gwybod eich bod chi'n dweud y gwir, a fydd dim rhaid i chi farw.” A dyma nhw'n cytuno. 21Ond medden nhw wrth ei gilydd, “Dŷn ni'n talu'r pris am beth wnaethon ni i'n brawd. Roedden ni'n gweld yn iawn gymaint roedd e wedi dychryn, pan oedd yn pledio am drugaredd. Ond wnaethon ni ddim gwrando. Dyna pam mae hyn i gyd wedi digwydd i ni.” 22“Ddwedais i wrthoch chi am beidio gwneud niwed i'r bachgen, ond wnaethoch chi ddim gwrando,” meddai Reuben. “A nawr mae'n rhaid i ni dalu am dywallt ei waed!” 23(Doedden nhw ddim yn sylweddoli fod Joseff yn deall popeth roedden nhw'n ei ddweud. Roedd wedi bod yn siarad â nhw drwy gyfieithydd.) 24Dyma Joseff yn eu gadael nhw ac yn torri i lawr i grïo. Pan ddaeth yn ôl i siarad â nhw eto, dyma fe'n dewis Simeon i'w gadw yn y ddalfa, a gorchymyn ei rwymo yn y fan a'r lle.Brodyr Joseff yn mynd yn ôl i wlad Canaan
25Wedyn dyma Joseff yn gorchymyn llenwi eu sachau ag ŷd, rhoi arian pob un ohonyn nhw yn ôl yn ei sach, a rhoi bwyd iddyn nhw ar gyfer y daith. A dyna wnaed. 26Dyma'r brodyr yn llwytho eu hasynnod a mynd. 27Pan wnaethon nhw stopio i aros dros nos, agorodd un ohonyn nhw ei sach i fwydo'i asyn. A dyna lle roedd ei arian yng ngheg y sach. 28Aeth i ddweud wrth ei frodyr, “Mae fy arian wedi cael ei roi yn ôl. Roedd yn y sach!” Roedden nhw wedi dychryn go iawn. “Be mae Duw wedi ei wneud?” medden nhw. 29Pan gyrhaeddon nhw adre i wlad Canaan at eu tad Jacob, dyma nhw'n dweud wrtho am bopeth oedd wedi digwydd. 30“Roedd llywodraethwr y wlad yn gas gyda ni ac yn ein cyhuddo ni o fod yn ysbiwyr. 31Dwedon ni wrtho ‘Dŷn ni'n ddynion gonest, dim ysbiwyr. 32Teulu o ddeuddeg brawd, meibion i'r un tad. Mae un brawd wedi marw, ac mae'r ifancaf adre gyda'n tad yng ngwlad Canaan.’ 33A dyma'r dyn oedd yn rheoli'r wlad yn dweud fel hyn, ‘Dyma sut fydda i'n gwybod os ydych chi'n ddynion gonest. Rhaid i un ohonoch chi aros yma gyda mi. Caiff y gweddill ohonoch chi fynd. Ewch ag ŷd i fwydo'ch teuluoedd. 34Wedyn dewch â'ch brawd bach yn ôl yma ata i. Bydda i'n gwybod wedyn eich bod chi'n ddynion gonest, ac nid ysbiwyr. Wedyn gwna i ryddhau'r brawd arall, a byddwch yn rhydd i brynu a gwerthu yma.’” 35Wedyn aethon nhw ati i wagio eu sachau. A dyna lle roedd cod arian pob un yn ei sach. Pan welon nhw a'u tad y codau arian roedden nhw wedi dychryn am eu bywydau. 36“Dych chi'n fy ngwneud i'n ddi-blant fel hyn,” meddai Jacob. “Mae Joseff wedi mynd. Mae Simeon wedi mynd. A nawr dych chi am gymryd Benjamin oddi arna i! Mae popeth yn fy erbyn i.” 37Yna dyma Reuben yn dweud wrth ei dad, “Os gwna i ddim dod ag e'n ôl atat ti, cei ladd fy nau fab i. Gad i mi fod yn gyfrifol amdano. Dof i ag e'n ôl.” 38Ond meddai Jacob, “Na, dydy fy mab i ddim yn mynd gyda chi. Mae ei frawd wedi marw, a dim ond fe sydd ar ôl. Dw i'n hen ddyn. Petai rhywbeth yn digwydd iddo ar y daith byddai'r golled yn ddigon i'm gyrru i'r bedd.”

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
