Ar Ynys Malta
1Ar ôl cyrraedd y lan yn saff dyma ni'n darganfod mai Malta oedd yr ynys. 2Roedd pobl yr ynys ▼▼28:2,4 pobl yr ynys: Groeg, “y barbariaid” (gw. Rhufeiniaid 1:14; 1 Corinthiaid 14:11; Colosiaid 3:11).
yn hynod o garedig. Dyma nhw'n rhoi croeso i ni ac yn gwneud tân, am ei bod hi wedi dechrau glawio'n drwm, ac roedd hi'n oer. 3Roedd Paul wedi casglu llwyth o frigau mân, ac wrth iddo eu gosod nhw ar y tân, dyma neidr wenwynig oedd yn dianc o'r gwres yn glynu wrth ei law. 4Pan welodd pobl yr ynys y neidr yn hongian oddi ar ei law medden nhw, “Mae'n rhaid fod y dyn yna'n llofrudd! Dydy'r dduwies Cyfiawnder ddim am adael iddo fyw.” 5Ond dyma Paul yn ysgwyd y neidr i ffwrdd yn ôl i'r tân. Chafodd e ddim niwed o gwbl. 6Roedd y bobl yn disgwyl iddo chwyddo neu ddisgyn yn farw'n sydyn. Ond aeth amser hir heibio a dim byd yn digwydd iddo, felly dyma nhw'n dod i'r casgliad fod Paul yn dduw. 7Roedd ystâd gyfagos yn perthyn i brif swyddog Rhufain ar yr ynys – dyn o'r enw Pobliws. Rhoddodd groeso mawr i ni, a dyma ni'n aros yn ei gartref am dridiau. 8Roedd tad Pobliws yn glaf yn ei wely, yn dioddef pyliau o wres uchel a dysentri. Aeth Paul i'w weld, ac ar ôl gweddïo rhoddodd ei ddwylo arno a'i iacháu. 9Ar ôl i hyn ddigwydd dyma lawer o bobl eraill oedd yn glaf ar yr ynys yn dod ato ac yn cael eu gwella. 10Cawson ni bob math o anrhegion ganddyn nhw, a phan ddaeth hi'n bryd i ni adael yr ynys dyma nhw'n rhoi popeth oedd ei angen i ni. 11Aeth tri mis heibio cyn i ni hwylio o'r ynys. Aethon ar long oedd wedi gaeafu yno – llong o Alecsandria gyda delwau o'r ‛Efeilliaid dwyfol‛ (Castor a Polwcs) ar ei thu blaen. 12Dyma ni'n hwylio i Syracwsa ▼▼28:12 Roedd Syracwsa ar Ynys Sisili.
, ac yn aros yno am dridiau. 13Wedyn dyma ni'n croesi i Rhegium ▼▼28:13 Roedd Rhegium reit ar ben deheuol yr Eidal.
. Ar ôl bod yno am ddiwrnod cododd gwynt o'r de, felly'r diwrnod wedyn llwyddon ni i gyrraedd Potioli. 14Daethon ni o hyd i grŵp o gredinwyr yno, a chael gwahoddiad i aros gyda nhw am wythnos. Yna, o'r diwedd, dyma ni'n cyrraedd Rhufain. 15Roedd y Cristnogion yno wedi clywed ein bod ni'n dod, ac roedd rhai wedi teithio i lawr cyn belled â Marchnad Apius ▼▼28:15b Roedd Marchnad Apius tua 43 milltir (70 cilomedr) i'r de o Rufain.

. Roedd gweld y bobl yma'n galondid mawr i Paul, a diolchodd i Dduw am fod mor ffyddlon. 16Yn Rhufain cafodd Paul ganiatâd i fyw yn ei lety ei hun, ond fod milwr yno i'w warchod. Paul yn pregethu yn Rhufain
17Dri diwrnod ar ôl cyrraedd Rhufain dyma Paul yn galw'r arweinwyr Iddewig yno at ei gilydd. “Frodyr,” meddai wrthyn nhw: “er na wnes i ddim byd yn erbyn ein pobl, na dim sy'n groes i arferion ein hynafiaid, ces fy arestio yn Jerwsalem ac yna fy nhrosglwyddo i ddwylo'r Rhufeiniaid. 18Dyma'r llys yn fy nghael i'n ddieuog o unrhyw drosedd oedd yn haeddu marwolaeth, ac roedden nhw am fy rhyddhau i. 19Ond dyma'r arweinwyr Iddewig yn codi gwrthwynebiad a ces fy ngorfodi i apelio i Gesar – nid fod gen i unrhyw gyhuddiad i'w ddwyn yn erbyn fy mhobl. 20Gofynnais am gael eich gweld chi er mwyn esbonio hyn i gyd i chi. Y rheswm pam mae'r gadwyn yma arna i ydy am fy mod i yn credu yn y Meseia, Gobaith Israel!” 21Dyma nhw'n ei ateb, “Dŷn ni ddim wedi derbyn unrhyw lythyrau o Jwdea amdanat ti, a does neb o'n pobl ni wedi dod yma i sôn am y peth na dweud dim byd drwg amdanat ti. 22Ond dŷn ni eisiau clywed beth rwyt yn ei gredu. Dŷn ni'n gwybod fod pobl ym mhobman yn siarad yn erbyn y sect yma.” 23Felly dyma nhw'n trefnu diwrnod i gyfarfod â Paul. Daeth llawer iawn mwy ohonyn nhw yno y diwrnod hwnnw. Buodd Paul wrthi drwy'r dydd, o fore tan nos, yn esbonio beth oedd yn ei gredu. Roedd yn eu dysgu nhw am deyrnasiad Dduw ac yn defnyddio Cyfraith Moses ac ysgrifau'r Proffwydi i geisio eu cael nhw i weld mai Iesu oedd y Meseia. 24Llwyddodd i argyhoeddi rhai ohonyn nhw, ond roedd y lleill yn gwrthod credu. 25Buon nhw'n dadlau gyda'i gilydd, a dyma nhw'n dechrau gadael ar ôl i Paul ddweud hyn i gloi: “Roedd yr Ysbryd Glân yn dweud y gwir wrth eich hynafiaid chi wrth siarad drwy'r proffwyd Eseia: 26 ‘Dos at y bobl yma a dweud,“Gwrandwch yn astud, ond fyddwch chi ddim yn deall;
Edrychwch yn ofalus, ond fyddwch chi ddim yn dirnad.”
27Maen nhw'n rhy ystyfnig i ddysgu unrhyw beth –
maen nhw'n gwrthod gwrando,
ac wedi cau eu llygaid.
Fel arall, bydden nhw'n gweld â'u llygaid,
yn clywed â'u clustiau,
yn deall go iawn,
ac yn troi, a byddwn i'n eu hiacháu nhw.’ f
28Felly deallwch hyn – mae'r newyddion da am Dduw yn achub ar gael i bobl y cenhedloedd eraill hefyd, a byddan nhw'n gwrando!” ▼

30Am ddwy flynedd gyfan, arhosodd Paul yno yn y tŷ oedd yn ei rentu ▼▼28:30 neu ar ei gost ei hun.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
