1Ar ôl hyn gadawodd Paul Athen a mynd i Corinth ▼▼18:1 Roedd Athen a Corinth yn ddinasoedd pwysig yn Achaia, De Gwlad Groeg.
. 2Yno dyma fe'n cyfarfod Iddew o'r enw Acwila oedd yn dod yn wreiddiol o Pontus. Roedd Acwila a'i wraig Priscila wedi symud i Corinth o'r Eidal ychydig cyn hyn, am fod yr ymerawdwr Clawdiws Cesar wedi gorchymyn fod pob Iddew i adael Rhufain. 3Gwneud pebyll oedd eu crefft nhw fel yntau, ac felly aeth Paul i weithio atyn nhw. 4Yna bob Saboth byddai'n mynd i'r synagog ac yn ceisio perswadio Iddewon a Groegiaid i gredu'r newyddion da. 5Ar ôl i Silas a Timotheus gyrraedd o Macedonia dyma Paul yn mynd ati i bregethu'n llawn amser, a dangos yn glir i'r Iddewon mai Iesu oedd y Meseia. 6Ond pan wnaethon nhw droi yn ei erbyn a dechrau ei sarhau, dyma Paul yn ysgwyd y llwch oddi ar ei ddillad fel arwydd iddyn nhw. “Arnoch chi mae'r bai am beth bynnag fydd yn digwydd i chi!” meddai, “Dw i wedi gwneud beth dw i'n gallu. O hyn ymlaen dw i'n mynd at bobl y cenhedloedd eraill.” 7Aeth Paul i aros yn nhŷ Titius Jwstus, oedd ddim yn Iddew ond oedd yn addoli Duw ac yn byw y drws nesa i'r synagog. 8Roedd Crispus, arweinydd y synagog, a phawb yn ei dŷ, wedi dod i gredu yn yr Arglwydd; ac roedd llawer o bobl eraill Corinth wedi clywed Paul a dod i gredu hefyd, a chael eu bedyddio. 9Un noson cafodd Paul weledigaeth, pan ddwedodd yr Arglwydd wrtho: “Paid bod ofn! Dal ati i ddweud wrth bobl amdana i. Paid bod yn ddistaw. 10Dw i gyda ti, a fydd neb yn ymosod arnat ti na gwneud niwed i ti. Dw i'n mynd i achub llawer o bobl yn y ddinas yma.” 11Felly arhosodd Paul yn Corinth am flwyddyn a hanner, yn dysgu neges Duw i'r bobl. 12Tra roedd Galio yn rhaglaw ar Achaia, dyma'r arweinwyr Iddewig yn dod at ei gilydd i ddal Paul a mynd ag e i'r llys. 13Y cyhuddiad yn ei erbyn oedd, “Perswadio pobl i addoli Duw mewn ffyrdd anghyfreithlon.” 14Ond cyn i Paul gael cyfle i gyflwyno ei amddiffyniad, dyma Galio yn dweud wrth yr Iddewon: “Petaech chi Iddewon yn dod â'r dyn yma o flaen y llys am gamymddwyn neu gyflawni rhyw drosedd difrifol, byddwn i'n caniatáu i'r achos fynd yn ei flaen. 15Ond y cwbl sydd yma ydy dadl am sut i ddehongli manion eich Cyfraith chi. Felly ewch i ddelio gyda'r mater eich hunain. Dw i'n gwrthod barnu'r achos.” 16Felly taflodd nhw allan o'r llys. 17Y tu allan i'r llys dyma griw o bobl yn gafael yn Sosthenes, arweinydd y synagog, a'i guro. 18Arhosodd Paul yn Corinth am amser hir wedyn. Pan ffarweliodd â'r Cristnogion yno hwyliodd i Syria, ac aeth Priscila ac Acwila gydag e. (Cyn mynd ar y llong yn Cenchrea roedd Paul wedi cadw'r ddefod Iddewig o eillio ei ben fel arwydd o gysegru ei hun yn llwyr i Dduw.) 19Ar ôl glanio yn Effesus, gadawodd Paul Priscila ac Acwila yno. Ond tra roedd yno aeth i drafod gyda'r Iddewon yn y synagog. 20Dyma nhw'n gofyn iddo aros yn hirach yno, ond gwrthododd. 21Ond wrth adael addawodd iddyn nhw, “Bydda i'n dod nôl atoch chi os Duw a'i myn.” Felly hwyliodd Paul yn ei flaen o Effesus, 22a chyrraedd Cesarea. 23Ar ôl aros yn Antiochia am dipyn, aeth i ymweld â'r eglwysi yn ardal Galatia a Phrygia unwaith eto, a chryfhau ffydd y Cristnogion yno. 24Yn y cyfamser roedd rhyw Iddew o'r enw Apolos wedi mynd i Effesus. Roedd yn dod yn wreiddiol o Alecsandria – dyn galluog, hyddysg iawn yn yr ysgrifau sanctaidd. 25Roedd wedi dysgu am yr Arglwydd Iesu, ac yn siarad yn frwd iawn amdano. Roedd beth oedd e'n ei ddysgu am Iesu yn ddigon cywir, ond dim ond bedydd Ioan oedd e'n gwybod amdano. 26Roedd yn siarad yn gwbl agored am y pethau yma yn y synagog. Pan glywodd Priscila ac Acwila beth oedd yn ei ddweud, dyma nhw yn ei wahodd i'w cartref ac yn esbonio ffordd Duw iddo yn fwy manwl. 27Cododd awydd yn Apolos i fynd i Achaia, ac roedd y credinwyr eraill yn ei gefnogi. Felly dyma nhw'n ysgrifennu llythyr at Gristnogion Achaia yn dweud wrthyn nhw am roi croeso iddo. Pan gyrhaeddodd yno roedd yn help mawr i'r rhai oedd, drwy garedigrwydd Duw, wedi dod i gredu. 28Roedd e'n gwrthbrofi dadleuon yr Iddewon mewn cyfarfodydd cyhoeddus. Roedd yn defnyddio'r ysgrifau sanctaidd i ddangos yn glir mai Iesu oedd y Meseia.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
