Addewid yr Arglwydd i Dafydd
(1 Cronicl 17:1-15) 1Roedd yr Arglwydd wedi rhoi heddwch i'r wlad, ac roedd y Brenin Dafydd wedi setlo i lawr yn ei balas. 2A dyma'r brenin yn dweud wrth y proffwyd Nathan, “Edrych! Dw i'n byw yma mewn palas crand o goed cedrwydd, tra mae Arch Duw yn dal mewn pabell.” 3A dyma Nathan yn ateb, “Mae'r Arglwydd gyda ti. Gwna beth bynnag wyt ti'n feddwl sy'n iawn.” 4Ond y noson honno dyma'r Arglwydd yn rhoi neges i Nathan, 5“Dos i ddweud wrth fy ngwas Dafydd, ‘Dyma mae'r Arglwydd yn ei ddweud: Wyt ti'n meddwl dy fod ti'n mynd i adeiladu teml i mi fyw ynddi? 6Dw i erioed wedi byw mewn teml, o'r diwrnod pan ddes i â phobl Israel allan o'r Aifft hyd heddiw. Dw i wedi bod yn mynd o le i le mewn pabell, sef tabernacl. 7Ble bynnag roeddwn i'n teithio gyda phobl Israel, wnes i erioed gwyno i'r rhai wnes i eu penodi i ofalu am ▼▼7:7 ofalu am Hebraeg, “bugeilio”

Dw i'n mynd i dy wneud di'n enwog drwy'r byd i gyd. 10Dw i'n mynd i roi lle i fy mhobl Israel fyw. Byddan nhw'n setlo yno, a fydd neb yn tarfu arnyn nhw. Fydd dynion creulon ddim yn achosi helynt iddyn nhw fel o'r blaen, 11pan oeddwn i wedi penodi barnwyr i'w harwain nhw. Bellach, dw i wedi rhoi heddwch i ti oddi wrth dy holl elynion.” Mae'r Arglwydd yn cyhoeddi: “Fi, yr Arglwydd, sy'n mynd i adeiladu tŷ i ti – llinach frenhinol! 12Ar ôl i ti farw a chael dy gladdu,bydda i'n codi un o dy linach yn dy le – mab i ti.
A bydda i'n gwneud ei deyrnas e yn gadarn.
13Bydd e yn adeiladu teml i'm anrhydeddu i;
a bydda i'n gwneud yn siŵr y bydd e'n teyrnasu am byth.
14Bydda i yn dad iddo, a bydd e'n fab i mi.
Pan fydd e'n gwneud drwg
bydda i'n defnyddio pobl i'w gosbi.
15Ond fydda i ddim yn stopio bod yn ffyddlon iddo,
yn wahanol i Saul pan wnes i ei symud e o dy ffordd di.
16Bydd dy deulu di yn teyrnasu o'm blaen i am byth.
Bydd dy orsedd yn gadarn fel y graig.”’”
17Felly dyma Nathan yn mynd a dweud y cwbl wrth Dafydd.

Ac eto ti wedi dod â fi mor bell! 19Ac fel petai hynny ddim yn ddigon, Feistr, Arglwydd, ti wedi siarad am y dyfodol pell yn llinach dy was! Ai dyma'r ffordd wyt ti'n arfer delio gyda phobl, Arglwydd? 20Beth alla i ddweud? Ti'n gwybod sut un ydy dy was, fy Meistr, Arglwydd. 21Am dy fod wedi addo gwneud, ac am mai dyna oedd dy fwriad, ti wedi gwneud y pethau mawr yma, a dweud wrtho i amdanyn nhw. 22“O, Feistr, Arglwydd, rwyt ti mor fawr! Does neb tebyg i ti! Does yna ddim duw arall heblaw ti. Dŷn ni wedi clywed am neb yr un fath â ti! 23A pwy sy'n debyg i dy bobl di, Israel? Mae hi'n wlad unigryw ar y ddaear – yn wlad aeth Duw i'w gollwng yn rhydd a'u gwneud yn bobl iddo'i hun. Ti'n enwog am wneud pethau rhyfeddol pan wnest ti achub dy bobl o'r Aifft a gyrru'r cenhedloedd paganaidd a'u duwiau allan o'r tir oedd gen ti ar eu cyfer nhw. 24“Ti wedi gwneud Israel yn bobl i ti dy hun am byth. Rwyt ti, Arglwydd, wedi dod yn Dduw iddyn nhw. 25Felly, Arglwydd Dduw, tyrd a'r addewid yma amdana i a'm teulu yn wir. Gwna fel rwyt ti wedi addo. 26Wedyn byddi'n enwog am byth. Bydd pobl yn dweud, ‘yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus ydy Duw Israel.’ A bydd llinach dy was Dafydd yn gadarn fel y graig, 27am dy fod ti, yr Arglwydd holl-bwerus, Duw Israel, wedi addo y byddi'n adeiladu tŷ i mi. A dyna pam mae dy was yn meiddio gweddïo fel hyn arnat ti. 28Nawr, Arglwydd, fy meistr, ti ydy'r Duw go iawn, ac mae dy eiriau di'n wir. Rwyt ti wedi addo gwneud y peth da yma i mi. 29Felly, plîs bendithia linach dy was, iddi aros yn gadarn gyda thi am byth. Meistr, Arglwydd, am mai ti sy'n bendithio, bydd dy fendith yn aros ar fy llinach i am byth.”

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
