1Roedd Eliseus wedi dweud wrth y wraig y daeth e a'i mab hi yn ôl yn fyw, ▼▼8:1 Eliseus … yn fyw gw. 4:8-37.
“Dylet ti a dy deulu symud i fyw i rywle arall dros dro. Mae'r Arglwydd wedi dweud fod newyn yn mynd i daro Israel am saith mlynedd.” 2Ac roedd hi wedi gwneud fel roedd y proffwyd yn dweud. Roedd hi a'i theulu wedi mynd i fyw i wlad y Philistiaid. 3Yna, ar ddiwedd y saith mlynedd, dyma hi a'i theulu'n dod yn ôl. A dyma hi'n mynd at y brenin i apelio am gael ei thŷ a'i thir yn ôl. 4Yn digwydd bod, roedd y brenin wrthi'n siarad â Gehasi, gwas Eliseus. Roedd e wedi gofyn i Gehasi ddweud wrtho am yr holl bethau rhyfeddol roedd Eliseus wedi eu gwneud. 5A tra roedd Gehasi yn adrodd hanes Eliseus yn dod â'r bachgen marw yn ôl yn fyw, dyma'r wraig (sef mam y bachgen) yn cyrraedd i ofyn am ei thŷ a'i thir. A dyma Gehasi'n dweud, “Syr, fy mrenin, hon ydy'r union wraig roeddwn i'n sôn amdani; ei mab hi wnaeth Eliseus ei godi yn ôl yn fyw!” 6Dyma'r brenin yn ei holi hi, a dyma hi'n dweud yr hanes i gyd wrtho. Yna dyma fe'n penodi swyddog i ofalu amdani, a dweud wrtho, “Rho ei heiddo i gyd yn ôl iddi; a hefyd gynnyrch y tir am y cyfnod y buodd hi i ffwrdd.” Eliseus yn cyfarfod Hasael, swyddog brenin Syria
7Dyma Eliseus yn mynd i Damascus, prifddinas Syria. Roedd Ben-hadad, brenin Syria yn sâl. Pan ddwedon nhw wrth y brenin fod proffwyd Duw wedi cyrraedd, 8dyma'r brenin yn dweud wrth Hasael, ei swyddog, “Dos i weld y proffwyd, a dos â rhodd gyda ti. Gofyn iddo holi'r Arglwydd os bydda i yn gwella o'r salwch yma.” 9Felly, dyma Hasael yn mynd i weld y proffwyd, gyda rhodd iddo – pethau gorau Damascus wedi eu llwytho ar bedwar deg o gamelod. Dyma fe'n sefyll o'i flaen a dweud, “Mae dy was, Ben-hadad, brenin Syria, eisiau gwybod fydd e'n gwella o'r salwch yma?” 10Dyma Eliseus yn ateb, “Dos a dywed wrtho, ‘Rwyt ti'n bendant yn mynd i wella.’ Ond mae'r Arglwydd wedi dangos i mi y bydd e'n marw.” 11Roedd Eliseus yn syllu ar Hasael, nes iddo ddechrau teimlo'n anghyfforddus. Yna dyma'r proffwyd yn dechrau crïo. 12Dyma Hasael yn gofyn iddo, “Pam wyt ti'n crïo, syr?” A dyma Eliseus yn ateb, “Am mod i'n gwybod y niwed wyt ti'n mynd i'w wneud i bobl Israel. Ti'n mynd i losgi'n trefi ni a lladd ein dynion ifanc yn y rhyfel. Byddi'n curo'n plant bach i farwolaeth, ac yn rhwygo'r gwragedd beichiog yn agored.” 13A dyma Hasael yn gofyn, “Sut allwn i wneud pethau mor ofnadwy? Dw i ddim gwell na ci bach.” Atebodd Eliseus, “Mae'r Arglwydd wedi dangos i mi y byddi di'n frenin ar Syria.” 14A dyma fe'n gadael Eliseus a mynd yn ôl at ei feistr. Pan ofynnodd hwnnw iddo, “Beth ddwedodd Eliseus wrthot ti?” Dyma fe'n ateb, “Dwedodd dy fod ti'n bendant yn mynd i wella.” 15Ond y diwrnod wedyn, dyma Hasael yn cymryd blanced a'i gwlychu, ac yna ei rhoi dros wyneb Ben-hadad a'i fygu. Felly bu farw Ben-hadad, a dyma Hasael yn dod yn frenin yn ei le.Jehoram, brenin Jwda
(2 Cronicl 21:2-20) 16Roedd Joram, mab Ahab, wedi bod yn frenin ar Israel ers pum mlynedd pan gafodd Jehoram, mab Jehosaffat, ei wneud yn frenin ar Jwda. 17Roedd yn dri deg dau pan ddaeth yn frenin, a bu'n teyrnasu yn Jerwsalem am wyth mlynedd. 18Ond roedd yn ymddwyn yr un fath â brenhinoedd Israel ac Ahab a'i deulu. Roedd wedi priodi merch Ahab, ac yn gwneud pethau drwg iawn yng ngolwg yr Arglwydd. 19Ond doedd yr Arglwydd ddim am ddinistrio Jwda o achos ei was Dafydd. Roedd wedi addo iddo byddai ei linach yn teyrnasu am byth. 20Yn ei gyfnod e dyma Edom yn gwrthryfela yn erbyn Jwda, a dewis eu brenin eu hunain. 21Felly dyma Jehoram yn croesi i Sair gyda'i gerbydau rhyfel. Roedd byddin Edom wedi ei amgylchynu. Dyma fe'n ymosod arnyn nhw ganol nos, ond colli'r frwydr wnaeth e, a dyma'i fyddin yn ffoi adre. 22Mae Edom yn dal i wrthryfela yn erbyn Jwda hyd heddiw. Ac roedd tref Libna ▼▼8:22 Libna Tref ar y ffin rhwng Philistia a Jwda, sy'n golygu fod Jehoram yn wynebu gwrthryfel o bob cyfeiriad.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
