1Fy mhlant annwyl, dw i'n ysgrifennu hyn atoch chi er mwyn eich helpu chi i beidio pechu. Ond os bydd rhywun yn pechu, mae gynnon ni un gyda'r Tad sy'n pledio ar ein rhan ni, sef Iesu Grist, sy'n berffaith gyfiawn a da. 2Fe ydy'r aberth wnaeth iawn am ein pechodau ni, ac nid dim ond ein pechodau ni, ond pechodau'r byd i gyd. 3Dyma sut mae bod yn siŵr ein bod ni'n ei nabod e ac yn perthyn iddo – trwy fod yn ufudd iddo. 4Mae'r bobl hynny sy'n dweud, “Dw i'n ei nabod e,” ond ddim yn gwneud beth mae e'n ei ddweud yn dweud celwydd, a dŷn nhw ddim yn ffyddlon i'r gwir. 5Ond os ydy rhywun yn ufudd i beth mae Duw'n ddweud, mae'n amlwg fod cariad Duw yn llenwi bywyd y person hwnnw. Dyma sut mae bod yn siŵr ein bod ni'n perthyn iddo: 6rhaid i bwy bynnag sy'n honni perthyn iddo fyw fel oedd Iesu'n byw. 7Ffrindiau annwyl, dw i ddim yn sôn am ryw orchymyn newydd. Mae'n hen un! Dyma gafodd ei ddweud o'r dechrau cyntaf. Dyma'r hen orchymyn glywoch chi o'r dechrau. a 8Ac eto mewn ffordd mae beth dw i'n ysgrifennu amdano yn newydd. Mae i'w weld ym mywyd Iesu Grist ac ynoch chithau hefyd. Achos mae'r tywyllwch yn diflannu ac mae'r golau go iawn wedi dechrau disgleirio. 9Mae'r rhai sy'n dweud eu bod nhw'n credu'r gwir ond sy'n bod yn gas at frawd neu chwaer yn dal yn y tywyllwch go iawn. 10Y rhai sy'n caru eu cyd-Gristnogion sy'n aros yn y golau, a does dim byd fydd yn gwneud iddyn nhw faglu. 11Ond mae'r rheiny sy'n gas at Gristion arall yn y tywyllwch. Ydyn, maen nhw ar goll yn llwyr yn y tywyllwch. Does ganddyn nhw ddim syniad ble maen nhw'n mynd, am fod y tywyllwch yn eu gwneud nhw'n gwbl ddall. 12Dw i'n ysgrifennu atoch chi, fy mhlant annwylam fod eich pechodau chi wedi cael eu maddau
o achos beth wnaeth Iesu.
13Dw i'n ysgrifennu atoch chi'r rhai hŷn,
am eich bod chi wedi dod i nabod yr Un
sy'n bodoli o'r dechrau cyntaf.
Dw i'n ysgrifennu atoch chi sy'n ifanc
am eich bod chi wedi ennill y frwydr
yn erbyn yr Un drwg.
Dw i wedi ysgrifennu atoch chi blant,
am eich bod chi wedi dod i nabod y Tad.
14Dw i wedi ysgrifennu atoch chi rai hŷn,
am eich bod chi wedi dod i nabod yr un
sy'n bodoli o'r dechrau cyntaf.
Dw i wedi ysgrifennu atoch chi'r rhai ifanc
am eich bod chi'n gryf,
am fod neges Duw wedi dod i fyw o'ch mewn chi,
ac am eich bod chi wedi ennill y frwydr
yn erbyn yr un drwg.
Peidiwch caru'r byd a'i bethau
15Peidiwch caru'r byd a'i bethau. Os dych chi'n caru'r byd, allwch chi ddim bod yn caru'r Tad hefyd. 16Y cwbl mae'r byd yn ei gynnig ydy blys am bleserau corfforol, chwant am bethau materol, a brolio am beth sydd gynnon ni a beth dŷn ni wedi ei gyflawni. O'r byd mae pethau felly'n dod, ddim oddi wrth y Tad. 17Mae'r byd hwn a'i chwantau yn dod i ben, ond mae'r sawl sy'n gwneud beth mae Duw eisiau yn byw am byth.Rhybudd yn erbyn gelyn y Meseia
18Blant annwyl, mae'r awr olaf wedi dod. Dych chi wedi clywed fod gelyn y Meseia i ddod, ac mae llawer sy'n elynion i'r Meseia eisoes wedi dod. Dyna sut dŷn ni'n gwybod fod yr awr olaf wedi dod. 19Mae'r bobl yma wedi mynd i ffwrdd oddi wrthon ni; doedden nhw ddim wir gyda ni yn y lle cyntaf! Petaen nhw gyda ni, bydden nhw wedi aros gyda ni. Mae'r ffaith eu bod nhw wedi'n gadael ni yn dangos yn glir eu bod nhw ddim gyda ni o gwbl. 20Ond dych chi'n wahanol – mae'r Un Sanctaidd wedi eich eneinio chi, a dych chi'n gwybod beth sy'n wir. 21Dw i ddim yn ysgrifennu atoch chi am eich bod chi ddim yn gwybod beth sy'n wir, ond am eich bod chi yn gwybod, ac yn deall fod gan gelwydd ddim byd i'w wneud â'r gwir. 22A pwy sy'n dweud celwydd? Dweda i wrthoch chi! – unrhyw un sy'n gwrthod y ffaith mai Iesu ydy'r Meseia. Gelynion y Meseia ydy pobl felly – pobl sy'n gwrthod y Tad yn ogystal â'r Mab! 23Os ydy rhywun yn gwrthod y Mab, dydy'r Tad ddim ganddo chwaith. Ond pwy bynnag sy'n derbyn y Mab, mae'r Tad ganddo hefyd. 24Gwnewch yn siŵr eich bod chi'n dal i lynu wrth beth dych chi wedi ei glywed o'r dechrau cyntaf. Wedyn, bydd eich perthynas chi gyda'r Mab a'r Tad yn sicr. 25A dyna'n union mae e wedi ei addo i ni! – bywyd tragwyddol! 26Dw i'n ysgrifennu hyn atoch chi er mwyn i chi fod yn ymwybodol o'r bobl hynny sydd am eich camarwain chi. 27Ond gan eich bod chi wedi cael eich eneinio – ac mae'r Ysbryd a'ch eneiniodd chi yn aros ynoch chi – does dim angen i neb eich dysgu chi. Mae'r Ysbryd yn dysgu popeth i chi. Mae ei eneiniad yn real. Does dim byd ffug ynglŷn â'r peth! Felly gwnewch beth mae'n ei ddweud – glynwch wrth Iesu.Plant Duw
28Felly, blant annwyl, glynwch wrth Iesu. Wedyn, pan ddaw yn ôl i'r golwg gallwn fod yn gwbl hyderus, a heb ddim cywilydd. 29Dych chi'n gwybod ei fod e'n hollol gyfiawn, felly dylech wybod hefyd fod pawb sy'n gwneud beth sy'n iawn yn blant iddo.

How do I do a word study?

When you click on a word, the detailed lexicon opens with:
'Vocabulary' Bibles link the translation to Greek & Hebrew. So far, only some Bibles have this vocabulary feature. They are shown in the Bible select screen with the letter 'V'.
It is the number of occurrences of a word in the Bible. Click on it to see them all in the selected Bible(s).
This reveals different forms for some words and names. These details are often interesting to scholars, eg the word 'beginning' in Genesis.
